The pig was intratracheally inoculated with H. parasuis strain Nagasaki (black bars). Infection was allowed to proceed during 2 h, when the animal was euthanized and alveolar macrophages were obtained from the lung by lavage. A control non-infected pig was included as the control (gray bars). Level of expression of the surface markers was measured with specific monoclonal antibodies by flow cytometry.
